Chamonix Mont-Blanc … the legendary resort of the Alps

 

C hamonix Mont-Blanc is the resort for all summits:

 

international in all seasons, the high mountain town welcomes tourists and mountaineering lovers from all over the world all year round. Located on the Mont-Blanc massif on the border with Italy and Switzerland, Chamonix oscillates between 995 m and 4,809 m altitude.

 

The Aiguille du Midi cable car, one of the highest cable cars in the world, departs from downtown Chamonix and flies over the Vallée Blanche in 30 minutes to reach the Piton central summit at 3842 meters. Le Pas dans le vide is an exceptional layout to be seen on the summit terrace with more than 1000 m of space underfoot in a fully glazed space.

 

The highest peak in Europe, Mont-Blanc, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as an exceptional site unique in the world.

 

Among all the activities to do,

 

places to visit and sports to discover, the Montenvers train takes you from Chamonix to the tourist site of Montenvers with a breathtaking view of the Mer de Glace. If hiking is one of the most popular activities, it is available in medium and high mountain hikes, with mountaineering and the mythical tour of Mont-Blanc.

 

You can also enjoy tobogganing, rock climbing, skating, curling, ice hockey, golf, mountain biking, paragliding, bowling, swimming, tennis, helicopter flying, rafting.

 

A wide variety of cultural and sporting events are organized each year in Chamonix, including the UTMB Mont-Blanc race, the alpine skiing world cup, the international climbing festival, the Chamonix film festival, the organ festival, the baroque festival of the Pays du Mont-Blanc.

each with its own charm and architectural characteristics: Argentière, Le Tour, Montroc, Le Planet, les Chosalets, le Lavancher, les Tines, les Bois, les-Praz-de-Chamonix les Pècles, les Mouilles , Moussoux, Barrats, Pélerins, Gaillands and Bossons.


The city center benefits from a wide variety of shops, sports shops, bars, brasseries and restaurants, including 7 gourmet restaurants which are recognized and starred in the Michelin guide. A free shuttle runs around the city center all day.
